O’Donnellan & Joyce realised sales of €6 million in the latest of its series of auctions of properties of the western region. There was remarkable value for investors and owner occupiers alike in the company's Wild Atlantic Way summer all day auction last Friday at the Harbour Hotel.

The team at O’Donnellan & Joyce are busy with final viewings and enquiries for the last of the summer auctions, with 60 properties for sale in the Wild Atlantic Way Summer All Day Auction tomorrow, July 22.

According to O’Donnellan & Joyce’s annual review, 2015 was the company's most successful year regarding the volume of sales since it opened its office in 1982. The agent reports that it sold close to 600 properties last year.

Buyers and investors were out in force at the O’Donnellan and Joyce property auction in Galway where a block of 17 one- and two-bed apartments presented in turnkey condition in the coastal Gaeltacht village of Spiddal, 12 miles outside Galway city, sold as one lot for €1,005,000. Bidding commenced at €420,000 and went up in bids of €5,000. A total of 110 bids was made before the hammer dropped at €1,005,000. This was, of course, a highlight sale in the afternoon’s catalogue, where 38 properties from Galway to Donegal and from Limerick to Tipperary fetched a total of €5m.
